You can easily change the name of an Office 365 Group or Team through the Office Admin Portal or the Teams Admin Center. Select the diamond icon on the toolbar to open the premium dashboard. This is still being looked at.
Someone else noted that because of the non-org domain of the address, emails into your Team wouldnt be processed by Exchange Online Advanced Threat Protection, if you had that enabled for your org.
