This trail starts on the back side of Snowmass mountain so the drive to get to the start is long, you can take the divide trail to get to it as well. The trail is marked by a tiny sign that looks like a street sign, and it starts at the intersection of two streets - can’t remember the names but if you use the instructions from here, it’s at the last intersection before it says you’re there.

The one downside is several dog owners not feeling responsible enough to take their dog bags out with them. The Rim Trail is a moderate trail you can hike, run, and mountain bike that is dog friendly. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The trailhead that I found turned out to be the South Rim trail. Out and back it is about 3.3 miles. Great snowshoe track. There are more miles of trails here than anyone could possibly want - all levels and lengths. With a trickling crick alongside, gorgeous roses and columbine - your eyes will be entertained. Great hiking area, you can do so much here and there is no one to bother you while doing it. I took my time and stopped a bunch of times along the way, sometimes to rest and other times to take photos of the beautiful wildflowers.
