There is a ton of character development, plenty of different settings and a very sinister tone to the plot thanks to the deeper look in to ONI, not something we have seen this much until the recent run up to Halo 5. It follows on from the Eric Nylund novel Ghosts Of Onyx and is therefore certainly worth a read after that - unfortunately however, the Eric Nylund novel is considerably better and when reading Glasslands you can't help but feel you've been starved of Nylund's superb writing quality.
