We hiked South Kaibob trail to Cottonwood on the first day, Cottonwood to the north rim and back on day 2 and then Cottonwood up Bright Angel on the third. I’ve never been a fan of ‘winter’ camping honestly. At 10,000 feet in elevation, Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead Campground makes a good place to spend a night before setting off into the John Muir Wilderness and Sequoia National Park.
